At our house the 5th of July is a holiday as it is our oldest son's birthday.  He was due on June 20th but decided not to be born until July 5th!!  By then he weighed 10 pounds, 5 oz.  Yikes!  That's a big baby.  So yesterday, he and his wife came over to do some 4th of July stuff.  They are back from Haiti and already making plans to go again.  Jake really enjoyed the mission trip too and wants to learn some of the language before he goes back.  But I digress...

Yesterday my husband, Jake, Joe and Scottie all golfed 18 holes at Dellwood.  They had an 8:12 tee time.  I went to Hugo to the grocery store in hopes of seeing some kids I know but no one was there.  I bought my groceries and came home.  I mowed 1/2 the lawn and then  worked on my paper.  Then John and Pam came over and John and Joe played tennis, Jake went to work at Gem Lake Golf Course and Pam and I studied while my husband grabbed a  nap.  At 3:00 Joe went to work at CG Hooks and John and my husband and I all went to the club (Lifetime) and Pam studied.  We came home around 5 and John and Jake golfed 9 holes at Gem Lake.  Too hot for me so I went in and read.  We grilled hamburgers and brats and my mom came over for dineer.  Mmm mmm good.  We went to the 9 pm showing of The Amazing Spiderman.  It was pretty good.  The film kept klitching and the whole last 1/4 of the movie didn't work right.  We all got our money back.  Sad.  We missed fireworks but honestly, it was too hot and all the guys had been outside too much already so it was nice to just sit back and watch a movie.

Why is Pam studying so much?  Oh right, she has to take the Minnesota Bar Exam on July 24 and 25.  Trust me, that is not something you want to do more than once!  She will pass it the first time but you really do need to study for it.  I took it on July 24 and 25 after my oldest son was born a mere 20 days before that.  She'll be fine!  Still, it's good she's studying so much.

Have a great Johnny's birthday week holiday!  Stay cool.            Mrs. Kovacs
