My reading group has begun reading scary, creepy, mysterious stories. We listen to Halloween music and read in the dark. We are focusing on SETTING and we are very busy "setting" the mood for our reading. Also, I scream randomly which is super scary!!
Our new read aloud book is called "Nightmares" and is set in a creepy purple mansion. This also sometimes makes me scream. Hmmm...weird. "My Teacher: The Weird Random Screamer" might just be a great title for your next personal narrative...

Book Fair and Bolt Night

This will be a very full week with the school book fair running all week long. We pre-shopped today to see what there was available to buy. During the rest of the week kids who bring money will be given the chance to go to the book fair to purchase the things they selected. I just LOVE a book fair, don't you?

EM Weekend Ahead

We had a walking field trip today so no new homework that is due tomorrow.
Over the long 4 day weekend I will be sending my math group with a set of fun math activities to do.
My reading group will just be expected to read 30 mn every day. When you come back, we will do Creepy /Mystery books.

Tomorrow we go to the Ramsey County Library, Key's cafe, the Farmer's Market, and the Lice Lounge.
Bag lunch needed.
Dress for cool weather.

You can buy small pumpkins and gourds at the Farmer's Market. I am buying stuff for salsa and then I am going to cut it up while you are specialist in the afternoon and then we can snack away when you get back. Yum!

Regular Day Ahead

Tomorrow should be a very regular day. No pictures, no walking field trips, no orchestra, no...pretty regular. But as Robbie says, "That make is an unusual day for Explorations!" I guess we are not very regular.

A 2 Field Trip Week

It's Homecoming Week in WBL. Our Spirit Wear Days are as follows:
Tuesday--Lincoln Lightening Shirt Day
Wednesday is Picture Day so NO spirit wear for us.
Thursday is Jersey day--wear your favorite sports team jersey.
Friday is ORANGE and BLACK day--Deck yourself out in everything orange and black. GO BEARS!!
We have Economics and Business field trips on Wednesday and Friday. You need a bag lunch both days.

Deep Portage Here We Come!

The 5th graders and I and Ms. Fertig head to Deep Portage at 7:00am tomorrow.
The 3rd and 4th graders need to report to Mrs. Stonehouse's room for all three of the remaining days this week.

Have you looked for yourself in the pictures on the student tab? Are you there? Do you have proof that you go to school here?
