So, my pretties, this is the week when we get to finally see the big show--The Wizard of Oz. I can hardly wait! We walk over on Thursday and then the opening night is Friday, April 1. That's no joke, by the way.
For tonight's ticket question write a comment about your favorite Exploration Show that you have seen--been in the audience. Obviously then, you can't comment on your own exploration. Was it learning about "How in the World do Buildings not fall over" or "How in the world do our...

For a first day back at school after an exciting spring break the day went very well. You guys did a great job coming right in and getting right to work. Way to go class.

Motto for Tomorrow: Keep it Calm
Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Thursday, March 17, 2016,
Today's ticket question is about the title of this blog post. WHY do you think I picked that title and HOW do you think we can accomplish that goal? 6 tickets.
Tomorrow let's start our ticket drawing AT 3:30. Do you think we can do it? Answer that question and tell WHY you think we can do it or why we can't and you can have 2 more tickets.
Have a safe trip Evan. Taylor, come on back--I will drop homework off at your house otherwise! ha ha
See you tomorrow and remember, calm it is!...

Quite the Upside Down Day
Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Wednesday, March 16, 2016,
We had Miranda Rights writing in this room and the 3/4s had a long lab on forces in motion today. We also had pictures today. We also had a surprise guest this morning and...quite an upside down day.
Tomorrow promises to be equally interesting. We have ART with Lisa for the 3/4s in my room while the 5th grade has some reading time. (Thank goodness as they missed it today!) Then 5th has orchestra while the 3/4s have reading. Then, the 5th grade has a meeting with Mr. JP Barone, who is an ...

This weekend's ticket question: What are you hoping to do in Art with Lisa next week. Do you hope to paint, draw, sketch, glue, cut, color, what? If you tell us what and why you can have 4 tickets. You can have 2 tickets to every response you give to someone else's comment up to a cap of 10 tickets.
According to the weather channel, it is going to be beautiful on Saturday. Get outside and enjoy the lovely weather. Then I think it just might rain on Sunday. Boo hoo. That is my birthday ...

70 Degree Day
Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Tuesday, March 8, 2016,
What's a teacher to do when it's a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day in March? GO OUTSIDE!! That's right, take the outdoor learning boxes and the kids and the cursive writing books and the reading books and the oil spill journals and head out to the outdoor classroom. It really was just too nice to stay inside.
Today's ticket question has to do with outdoor learning. Do you think there are academic, educational benefits to outdoor learning and if so, what are they? If not, why not? Blog a ...

Big News: No Math Homework This Weekend!!
Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Friday, March 4, 2016,
Friday we actually did a carnival of fun math activities that celebrated what we have learned so far in this unit. It was great to travel around the room and play with numbers. With that said, we did not really have a new lesson that needs reinforcing so...NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEKEND IN MATH!! Isn't that fantastic!!
Today's ticket question is two fold. First, blog a comment about what math activity you liked the best and tell WHY you liked that one. What about it did you like? That's for 4 ...
