I am proud to say that 100% of the kids in this class have their fraction book done, done well and turned in.  That's 28/28.  Way to go!  Today 26/28 or 13/14 of the kids got to read their book to a 3rd grader.  Coolio.  Were they impressed?  Blog a comment that you heard a 3rd grader say about your fraction book and you can have 4 tickets tomorrow.

Tomorrow is our fraction test--end of the unit.  We are all (100% of us me included) looking forward to moving on to a new unit in math.  Enough w...

Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Monday, February 24, 2014,
That's not 100?  Bummer.  But it's close.  How close is it?  Be one of the first 3 kids to blog a comment that tells what percent of kids that is and you can have 10 tickets.  The next 5 can have 2 tickets.

We have many projects in the works.  We need to get going on our science--maybe tomorrow we can walk off the things for our maps.  My husband says it's nice out today so...maybe tomorrow afternoon.  He couldn't believe we had an in day.  Really, I couldn't believe it either.

Lots of math ton...

Happy Valentine's Day / Presidents' Day

Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Friday, February 14, 2014,
Historically, how is it we came to celebrate Presidents' Day?  Look it up, blog a comment and earn yourself 10 tickets.

Blog a comment thanking Bryan for his wonderful Jeopardy game and to Richard for his fun skittles game and you can have 4 tickets.

Enjoy your extra long weekend.  Get that fraction book done.  That is your only math homework though I feel like that is enough.  It is a big project.

Maybe This'll Be My Year

Posted by Jamie Kovacs on Wednesday, February 5, 2014,
The Train project presentations have been wonderful!  So far all the kids who have done their's did a great job.  I am excited to see more of them now.  Don't forget to bring your baby pic for the 2002-2003 spot on our timeline.  Also, remind me to take a few pics of the thing tomorrow.  Finally, be working on researching and writing your "blurb" about an event that happened sometime in 2005-2014.  Remember, I did mine on the i-pad rolling out on April 3, 2010.

Our pond is suffering from the...

Our goal for I Love 2 Read month is to spend at least a half hour at school getting cozy and reading.  I think it's great how you can move into that so quickly.  Kids grab stuffed animals and blankets and pillows out of the reading area and settle right into reading.  Good times.  The only thing to know is that you really need to have a book here to fully enjoy the get cozy and read thing.  Tomorrow we may get cozy and close read with Chapter 8 in Social Studies.  Not the same, I know, but st...

She didn't forget about us!!  Yea!  I will give 4 tickets to everyone who blogs a reply back to her.  Wasn't it great to hear from her?

Tomorrow we start presenting our TRAIN papers.  Is yours ready?  All but 9 of you are ready to present your project.  Also, pick a world or US or personal event to research and write a blurb about for the 2005-2013 portion of the time line.  By the way, doesn't the time line look cool?  Bring a baby picture to add to the poster--they are so cute!!...
